Redress is a pioneering HK-based NGO working to promote environmental sustainability in the fashion industry. Through their dynamic programmes they work directly with the next generation of fashion designers, industry professionals and consumers in order to reduce textile waste, minimise water and energy consumption and ultimately create a new circular economy for fashion.

The Executive Director will lead a dynamic, enthusiastic, multi-national team based in Hong Kong and Europe. The successful candidate will join at a pivotal stage in Redress’ 13-year history, being part of the leadership team that seeks to refine organisational strategies and expand core programmes to effectively tackle the environmental crisis caused by the fashion industry. The successful candidate will benefit from seeing their professional experience put to meaningful use, and will suit a person who is passionate about the environment as well as creating a more sustainable fashion industry.

Join Sort-a-thon and sort through Second-hand Clothing with Redress – 21 Nov

Did you know, every day Hongkongers throw 370 tonnes of textiles into landfill, most of which is recyclable? Redress is a pioneering Hong Kong based NGO working to reduce textile waste and promote environmental sustainability in the fashion industry.

On 21 and 22 November, Redress is running an exciting mass-clothes-sorting event aiming to sort through all of the clothing collected in the Get Redressed Clothing Drive (forecasted as over 10 tonnes) in just 24 hours, with the help of 30 teams of corporate and community volunteers.

HandsOn Hong Kong is recruiting volunteers to form a community team of 10-15 people for the 1pm – 5pm session on Thursday 21 November. You will be volunteering with up to 4 other teams.

What will volunteers be doing?
Volunteers will be sorting through clothing donations and directing them for resale, reuse by our 20+ local charity partners, up-cycling and recycling, depending on the type and quality of the clothing.

Get Redressed Secondhand

Attention fashonistas! Redress is hosting a secondhand clothing pop-up shop in Central from June 4-8. All the money raised at the shop will help support their work in reducing textile waste in the fashion industry. Stop by to pick up some great pieces and to learn more about how you can make your wardrobe more sustainable.
