A bit of a globetrotter, I recently returned to Hong Kong, my home town. As an adult, I have always volunteered my time for various different causes: whether sitting on a board of an industry association, running a volunteer library, or planning fundraising event.

Since coming back, I have been looking for interesting volunteer opportunities. No I don’t want to just donate money, I want to give sweat equity, and no selling flags on a Saturday morning or hawking T-shirts outside of MTR stations is NOT what I have in mind.

I thought I would use this blog to share my journey with you. It’s a quest for finding the right fit for non profit organizations out there matched with my interests. I hope to share with you the process: what are you looking for, how much time can you commit; as well as the organizations out there, from the better known to the lesser known.

Hong Kong is socially responsible, people just don’t know it!
