Volunteer Info Session “Food. Wanted, Not Wasted” – 24 Sept

16 Sep

Hong Kong’s 3 landfills will be full by 2020 and yet every day we throw away 3,600 tons of food. At the same time, 1 in 5 people are living in poverty struggling to meet their basic food needs. This includes 1 in 3 seniors and 1 in 5 children.

Feeding Hong Kong was established to readdress this balance – to reduce the amount of quality food that is being sent to our city’s landfills and fight hunger in Hong Kong. They do this by providing a B2B logistics service, which links companies with surplus food to charities feeding those in need.

Volunteer support is critical to their daily operations and over 150 volunteers help Feeding Hong Kong each week to reduce food waste and feed frontline charities. But with more helping hands, Feeding Hong Kong can do even more!

COME JOIN Feeding Hong Kong CEO Gabrielle Kirstein and Volunteer & Education Coordinator Peggy Lam on Sept 24 to find out more about how you can get involved and help feed people, not landfills.

Feel free to contact Feeding Hong Kong at 2205 6811 or volunteer@feedinghk.org if you have any questions about this event.
