Heifer International’s mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the earth. For over 70 years, Heifer International has provided livestock and environmentally sound agricultural training to improve the lives of those who struggle daily for reliable sources of food and income. Heifer is currently working in nearly 30 countries, to help families and communities become more self-reliant. Heifer’s unique community development model has helped 30 million families directly and indirectly since 1944.

Founded in 2000, Heifer Hong Kong has helped impoverished families and communities in Mainland China to become more self-reliant. Through Heifer’s unique community development model, Heifer Hong Kong works with Haihui to end rural poverty in Mainland China.
* An increasing number of families in China ending hunger, becoming self-reliant and caring for others.
* A compassionate young generation in Hong Kong that is active in making a difference in the global community, starting in China.

* To provide opportunities for the Hong Kong community to support Heifer’s poverty alleviation program in China.

What you can do to help:

Read to Feed: Children are inspired to read books while getting sponsors for their reading. Story books, videos and other educational resources are available to help children develop empathy and learn about poverty issues starting from a young age. Since 2002, over 390,000 student times from over 230 schools have participated in Read to Feed.

Moo Moo Young Partner Program: A children’s program that empowers and nurtures the young generations to contribute to a better world! It aims to enhance children’s understanding of poverty, help cultivate a sense of compassion and empathy as well as their willingness to share through a series of fun-filled family activities that promote these Heifer spirits.

Moo Moo Young Partner gives Hong Kong children aged 4-12 a chance to support Heifer Hong Kong’s poverty alleviation work. Fun-filled experiential activities help broaden the children’s horizon and develop positive values, cultivating them into aspiring young partners willing to share and dare to undertake responsibilities. Designed for children and parents’ participation, the program also enhances family bonding.
