Lensational is a non-profit, youth-led social enterprise with the mission of empowering women through photography. They do this by equipping marginalised women in developing countries with digital cameras and photography training. Changing lives of women, one camera at a time.

Lensational believes that photography can achieve the empowerment of women on two levels:
* Emotional Empowerment: Gaining access to cameras gives them a new way to express themselves freely and to retain memories. Therapeutic photography is also a proven counselling technique to overcome social isolation.
* Economic Empowerment: Lensational women photographers will receive 50% of the revenue if their photographs are sold through this platform and their partner agencies – Wellcome Images and PhotoConcierge. With photography skills, they can also pursue freelance photography opportunities.

Founded on the International Women’s Day of 2013, Lensational workshops have so far been conducted for 300 women and girls in ten developing countries. Their photos and stories were shared with over 3,000 visitors to Lensational photo exhibitions in Hong Kong, London and New York, more than 10,000 supporters on social media channels and featured by global media outlets including the Guardian, ABC News and Mashable. Globally Lensational has 60 volunteers working for Lensational across 13 countries.

Lensational envisions a world where women and girls are no longer suppressed of their thoughts and emotions. Help Lensational make this a reality by purchasing a photograph and sharing their website with others.
