Intern or Volunteer with Earthwatch Hong Kong

11 Feb

Earthwatch Institute is an international environmental charity founded in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1971. With offices in USA, UK, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, India, and Brazil, the Earthwatch Institute also has scientific field research projects all over the world.

Their mission is to engage people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment.

Worldwide, Earthwatch works with a wide range of partners, from companies, governments and academic institutions to the individuals who participate in their field research projects. Their participants come from all walks of life including corporate employees, teachers, young people, emerging scientists and members of the general public.

Earthwatch involves people as funded or self-funding volunteers in scientific field research. Since 1971, they have sent more than 90,000 volunteers into the field to work with over a thousand scientists on projects around the world. By involving people in hands-on scientific research and education, they help them to develop the knowledge, skills and motivation needed to take action for the environment. Together they conduct vital research into climate change, ecosystem services, ocean health and cultural heritage. By supporting scientific research conducted by leading scientists from a range of disciplines, their results form the necessary basis for future decisions about the environment.

For 20 years, Earthwatch has worked closely with international companies to develop and deliver pioneering engagement and learning opportunities that motivate and inspire employees, as well as equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to drive change towards more sustainable business practice.
