Calling all Young Professionals – Hong Kong Room to Read needs you

The Room to Read Hong Kong Chapter is looking to form their 2013 Committee for their “Young Professionals Supports Room to Read” Event to be held in November in Hong Kong.

Last year’s Young Professionals Event was a huge success and raised more than USD 13,000 – over HKD 100,000

They will need help researching and securing a venue along with sourcing auction and raffle prizes and help promoting the event to your networks. The Room to Read Hong Kong Chapter will also be working on themes and other fun aspects of the evening. They need your input and energy.

Room to Read works in collaboration with communities and local governments across Asia and Africa to room to read cambodiadevelop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the life skills they’ll need to succeed in school and beyond by building and stocking libraries, building bright ventilated classrooms, publishing books in the local language, training educators and providing one-on-one support to teachers, and supporting girls to stay in school by providing material support—such as school fees, clean uniforms or transportation, in addition to mentoring and life skills training to help girls succeed in the classroom and beyond.
